CIVIL INFRASTRUCTURE
Jim Lorimer Park
A new playground had to be raised to grade over compressible, settlement-prone ground without adding weight the soft soils could not carry. Enviro-Rock went in as a 500 mm lightweight fill between two geogrid layers, reaching grade while keeping load off the ground below. Around 646 m³ of Foam Glass Aggregate cut projected settlement from about 600 mm down to 200 mm.
CIVIL INFRASTRUCTURE
Killarney Park Soccer Field
A new soccer field had to be brought to grade over soft, compressible ground without overloading the soils below. Enviro-Rock went in as the lightweight fill beneath the field, reaching grade at a fraction of the weight of granular fill while staying free-draining. Around 11,000 m³ of Foam Glass Aggregate gave the pitch a stable, low-load foundation.
BUILDING
6-Story Building
A new affordable housing building had to be founded over deep, compressible clay that could not carry the added weight of a conventional fill. Enviro-Rock went in as a load-compensating replacement, with heavy soil dug out across the footprint and replaced by foam glass aggregate at a fraction of the weight, keeping load off the ground below. The result is a stable foundation zone that keeps long-term settlement in check, built from 100% recycled glass.
